April 2025

  • Observance of the Rule is of more value than all extraordinary states, more than the stigmata, more than the gift of miracles. (St. Mariam of Jesus Crucified).

All the virtues, all of Carmel, can be found in our Holy Rule. Let us study it faithfully; let us practice it and we can be saints. Let us encourage all who come to our monasteries to grow in the love of the Holy Scripture, which is so encouraged by our Rule, in which we read, “You shall meditate upon the law of the Lord day and night.” (Light for the Journey, Reflections from Carmel, February 16)
  • Farewell. Going away party for Ann and Catherine is postponed. To be announced.
  • Community Meeting in May. We will have a community meeting on May 18, but no community meeting in August. The Day of Recollection will take the place of the community meeting.
